Calls to New Zealand still giving you trouble?
See how to avoid these regularly occurring dialing mistakes:
International calls that are blocked
A “blocked” status is sometimes found in settings, generated automatically by some cell service providers. Just change the setting to take care of it or call your service provider for help. Note: Vonage World does not have this problem.
Some cell phone numbers won‘t have area codes
Many area codes aren‘t addable to some international cell phone numbers -- most countries usually have a dedicated starting digit for international calling to them.
Note that for any phone number beginning with a zero, that first digit is the phone number‘s “trunk code” — only to be used for calls to a few countries. Just leave it off and you should be able to make your call.
VoIP
Numerous Internet cell phone (VoIP) providers don‘t require that you dial the exit code 011 during international calling, so if that feature is on be sure to skip pressing 011.
