Trouble with calls to Iran?

Don‘t fall for these easily avoided dialing mistakes:

International calls are sometimes auto-blocked

Several cell phone services have their international calling setting auto-blocked, though this can easily be undone. Simply search through your phone‘s settings options and disable blocking.

Cell phone numbers without area codes

You should never add area codes to international cell phone numbers, which in most countries, usually have an predetermined starting digit not used for landline calls.

Trunk codes

If you see a phone number that starts with a zero, please be aware that it‘s the phone number‘s “trunk code,” which is used only when calling a select few countries. Leave that zero off in order to make your call.

VoIP

VoIPs or Internet cell phones usually allow you to skip dialing 011 when international calling, so if you find that feature is enabled, do not press 011.
